Milton Monkeys Kids' Culb
On Saturday, April 16, the Milton Monkeys Kids' Club meets from 10 am to 12 noon to celebrate Earth Week. Children are invited to come out to decorate a terracotta pot and plant a variety of seeds to take home with them. The Kids’ Club is free and is open to children ages 4 to 12.
Plant a Tree, Win some Green!
Did you know that 2011 is the International Year of the Forest? Companies, communities and individuals all over the world are taking part in the United Nation’s Billion Tree Pledge. Milton Mall, with the generous support of Conservation Halton, has joined the campaign and committed to giving away 750 seedlings this month. Whether you pick up a free seedling from the Easter Bunny or at the Kids’ Club event, you’re invited to take part in our pledge to help Plant the Planet. After you get your seedling, send us a photo of your child planting it and you'll be entered to win a $500 gift card. Visit www.miltonmall.com and click on Contests! for details.
Art at the Mall
This month, the AM Gallery plays host to an exciting exhibit in it’s new location across from Ardene. The Visual Insanity group of artists will be presenting “Through the Eyes of the Beholder”, an Exhibition of Abstraction, Surrealism and Expressionism. The gallery is open Wednesdays to Sundays during regular mall hours. Art by Enzo Mazzotta, Fedor Yatsik, Russell Jodway and Peter Young will be showcased during this exhibition, in addition to work by special guest artist Alexander Doyle. Throughout this month long exhibit, there will also be free beginner and intermediate level workshops and art classes held on Sunday April 17 from 12 noon to 2 pm and Saturday, April 30 from 12 noon to 2 pm. The theme of these workshops is "Arts with an Alternative Aspect". The April 17 workshop is open to children ages seven and older. April 30 is an adult workshop.
